Rasika Viswanath is an accomplished artist and a well known performer in Chennai music circles. She has had the benefit of learning from renowned gurus such as Smt.Savithri Sathyamurthy (also her grandmother), Bombay Smt.T.R.Balamani, Lalgudi Shri.G.Jayaraman and Late Calcutta Shri K.S.Krishnamurthy. She is currently undergoing advanced training under Smt.Raji Gopalakrishnan.
She has been a recipient of the National Cultural Scholarship (Senior Level) from the Government of India. She has also won the ‘Best Performance – Vocal’ award in the Gokulashtami Series concerts instituted by Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. In addition she has won several prizes in competitions at inter-state levels.
She has performed in many prestigious institutions including The Music Academy in Chennai and other cities such as Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune & Hyderabad and in Singapore. She has also performed extensively in classical and light classical music in AIR and in various channels on TV.

Won the first prize in the Inter State Classical Music Competetion held at Indra Nagar Society, Bangalore in February 1997.
